Have you ever seen Brown Sugar? There is this part where Sydney is talking to Kelby about having writers block and how she isn't sure if she is good enough to write her book. She asks him about her current article and he fibs and eventually confesses that he has not read any of her other articles besides the one she wrote on him.

Later in the movie when talking to Dre he quotes on of her previous articles and lets her know that he read it every week. That meant a lot to her....it meant a lot to me.
